Peter grew up in Natchez, Mississippi, and later moved to the Blue Ridge Mountains to study anthropology, sustainable development, and renewable energy at Appalachian State University. His academic path sparked a deep interest in food systems and environmental justice. In 2011, he moved to Nashville to live and work in the agricultural neighborhood of Bells Bend, managing small-scale regenerative farms for over a decade. He later became a worker-owner at Nashville Foodscapes, representing his peers on its governing board. In 2023, he joined The Nashville Food Project’s Growing Together Program and now serves as Director of Agricultural Operations.
Peter is passionate about community, food, and regenerative agriculture. Outside of work, he enjoys kayaking, concerts, Nashville SC games, and spending time with his loved ones and dog, Jasper.
